Cheerleadership

From producer, author, composer and speaker Terri Marie

Cheerleadership is a term I coined back in the early 2000s.

When I was in high school I was a cheerleader. When I was going into the speaking world it was that cheerleader experience that inspired my topic and speech, "Your Inner Cheerleader." The qualities a cheerleader had to bring to the table back then were definitely leadership qualities and it was those I wrote about in my first book, "Your Inner Cheerleader."

The late Dottie Walters who was an icon in the speaking world (The forward to her book was written by the author of "Think and Grow Rich," Napoleon Hill). Dottie often spoke to me about leadership. It was a quality she admire above most others and she would tell me stories about people throughout time who used their well-developed leadership qualities to inspire the people they were leading.

Leadership is a very valuable skill and it can be developed at least to some extent.

Cheerleadership is a special version of true leadership.

It is a quality that enables one to not only encourage others but lead them and our selves to success.
